His work was nationally recognized in 2023 by the Brazilian Society for the Progress of Science (SBPC) as one of the top undergraduate research projects in Brazil. Later that year, he was awarded a direct-entry PhD scholarship from FAPESP to continue his studies with Prof. Abbehausen. His current research focuses on the role of ligands in Au(I) complexes against Leishmania, combining computational and experimental approaches. In September 2025, he joined the Frei Lab as a visiting PhD student with an Abroad Internship scholarship from FAPESP to explore transition metal complexes against neglected tropical diseases. When not in the lab, he enjoys videogames, football and reading manga.
