Kiera was born in Bolton, UK in 2004. She is currently undertaking her Integrated Masterβs in Biochemistry, and has taken a broad approach to her studies: completing her third year group project on the potential for a genetic link between Motor Neurone Disease and Exercise, and a summer internship with the Richter Lab in the Molecular Nanoscale Physics department at the University of Leeds, funded through GenerationResearch. This year, Kiera will be investigating the bacterial uptake of metalloantibiotics, with an aim to elucidate entry rules that can be used to improve further development of these drugs. When not working, she enjoys reading, a good long walk (especially if dogs and a coffee shop are involved) and competing with the university fencing team.
